Drug-Food Interaction Module for Consumers™

Educating patients on potential interactions between certain drugs and food.

The Drug-Food Interaction Module for Consumers includes monographs on potential drug-food interactions to assist clinicians in educating the consumer about potential interactions that may occur between certain drugs and foods. It uses the same knowledge base behind the Drug-Food Interaction Module so vendors can use the same code behind their implementation and simply point to a different monograph table.

FDB Drug-Food Interaction Module-Consumers Advantages:

  • Provides patients with tools for monitoring their own medication and preventing harmful drug-food interactions and reminds patients to consult their healthcare providers before starting, stopping or changing any medication.
  • Educates consumers about potential interactions that may occur between certain drugs and certain foods. Monographs are in everyday language, written especially for a consumer audience. Sections include medical warning, how the drug-food interaction occurs, what might happen, what you should do about this drug-food interaction, and references.
  • Facilitates ability for users to input specific medications and view only those interactions related to these medications.
  • Offers consumers a version of the information found in our traditional monographs for professionals within the Drug-Food Interaction Module.
