FDB (First Databank) Secures Place on NHS Shared Business Services Framework for Medicines Optimisation Solutions

FDB, a leading provider of healthcare technology solutions, is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a place on the prestigious NHS Shared Business Services’ Medicines Optimisation Prescribing Decision Support Systems 3 framework agreement for its two primary care medicines optimisation solutions: OptimiseRx and AnalyseRx. This achievement marks a significant milestone as it is the first time that AnalyseRx has been featured on the framework.

About FDB: FDB is at the forefront of driving innovation in prescribing decision support in the UK. With a commitment to improving patient outcomes, FDB develops cutting-edge solutions that empower healthcare professionals to make informed prescribing decisions. Our suite of solutions enhances medication safety, streamlines workflows, and optimises patient care across the healthcare ecosystem.

OptimiseRx has been part of the NHS SBS framework since launch. The solution, which is live in 30 Integrated Care Boards (ICBs), has directly saved the NHS over £355 million to date through more cost-effective prescribing. By providing prescribers with uniquely patient-specific guidance at the point-of-care, OptimiseRx ensures that patients receive the most appropriate and safe medications.

AnalyseRx is our newest solution, designed to proactively identify and action medicines optimisation opportunities within primary care. AnalyseRx empowers healthcare professionals to manage patient medication needs accurately and safely over time. With AnalyseRx, multi-disciplinary teams – collaborating across ICBs and PCNs – can quickly gain insight to determine priorities and then manage every step in the medicines optimisation process within the clinical system.

The two solutions complement each other and offer a comprehensive medicines optimisation solution for general practice. Both solutions are backed by deeply experienced clinical content and account management teams made up of GPhC-registered pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and expert clinical informaticists who work closely with our technologists to deliver market-leading software.

Kelly Bevington, Principal Category Manager at NHS SBS, comments: “The framework agreement enables approved organisations to procure support systems within Primary Care, providing clear and concise suggestions for more effective, safer, or cost-effective medicines. AnalyseRx’s inclusion represents a significant step forward in optimising patient care.”

Darren Nichols, Managing Director at FDB, comments: “We are proud to be part of this NHS Shared Business Services framework, supporting healthcare professionals in their mission to deliver high-quality care. We look forward to making a further positive impact on patient outcomes with AnalyseRx now included on the framework.”
