Dosage Range Check Module™

Helping clinicians monitor the appropriateness of drug dosing.

The Dosage Range Check Module helps clinicians monitor the appropriateness of drug dosing. It uses age, route of administration, indications, and organ function data to identify safe dosage levels based on certain patient-specific parameters. It provides renal dose screening, hepatic adjustment indicators, and lifetime maximum dose. Dosing information also accommodates the narrow therapeutic window for neonates and infants.

FDB Dosage Range Check Module Advantages:

  • Screens against more than 18,000 GCNSEQNOs and over 75,000 active NDCs so clinicians can quickly ensure doses are checked against low, high or maximum dosage levels.
  • Dosage recommendations include (when appropriate): low, high and maximum daily dose; dosing frequency or frequency range; duration of therapy, minimum and maximum lengths; maximum single and not to exceed single dose; maximum lifetime dose, where appropriate; renal and hepatic impairment dosage adjustment indicators; creatinine clearance threshold for where doses need adjustment for renal dysfunction; age ranges; gestational age at birth (when required for neonatal patients); current weight (when required for neonatal patients); multiple dose types; and narcotic-analgesic monitoring
  • Provides neonatal and infant dose checking, helping clinicians to prevent dosing errors by factoring in several critical characteristics including weight, gestational age at birth and medical condition, when available. Medication screening covers those drugs most commonly prescribed for newborns in an acute-care setting.
